Butler’s Flat is a seasonal clam shack named after the lighthouse in the South End of New Bedford, Massachusetts. The lighthouse is located in the harbor directly across from my grandparents’ while I was growing up.

The Shack is located in Brewer Capri Marina West and was inspired by my early years in N.B. with my family eating fried clams and scallops, digging clams and eating stuffed quahogs; and the many years since fishing in the Sound and eating lobster rolls and littlenecks by the dozen with my wife at a road side Shack in Amagansett.
We support local purveyors, which means most of what you will eat and drink here comes from the Northeast. Our lobsters come from Maine or Canada. Scallops from New Bedford or Montauk. Shrimp from Maine or the Gulf. Clams from mudflats along the East Coast. Oysters from families who have been digging them for generations. Our catch specials come from Montauk and are caught with a line & pole. Our beer and wine is from the Northeast.
We care about the food we serve and hope you enjoy it. Thank You for joining us.
We are closed for the season. Thank you for all your support this summer. We look forward to serving you again in 2014!
See you in May!
